Well, school is back in full force.  Freshmen are running around at my feet and i hope i don't step on any of them.  I was told I had two freshmen girls in my dorm of 24.  Well, by noon I had 10 and by 5 o'clock, I had 18 freshmen.  Ahhh. I wasn't prepared for that.  But it has been fun.  I sang at a little thing they had last night for the students, it was kinda bad, but that's life.  I have my voice exam making up for the summer one I didn't have, and it is this Friday,  i should probably start practicing. Becca, my roommate, finally came. I've been here a week without her, I'm glad she's here.

The past couple weeks i have worked with a Japanese exchange student program, loved it, went and visited maryland and everybody at camp. Then I went to VA Beach to visit the newlyweds, bethany and daniel.  They have a really pretty house, it's like a quaint apartment at the beach like you would see in the movies.  Last weekend  I dropped by the Matson house, a few were home.  We had fun, I dried my first canned cherry (yuck) and they tried some okra i fried (it was interesting).  I also decided to be a daredevil and jump off the high spot for the rope swing.  ummmm, didn't turn out as well as I'd planned.  my knees got all scraped up, i hate admitting it, but it hurt  REAL bad.  Man, i hate getting hurt.  RA training has been the last couple of days.  . . whoohoo (very sarcastically).  Also, i've been helping Kolby stain doors at his uncle and aunt's house.  It's always nice to have some real work to do while I'm bored at school.

School starts on Wednesday.  this is going to be a very good semester.  oh, i forgot,  Ira was finding out today where his government job was going to take him.  We were all  hoping he would stay on the east coast, but his top choices were TX and AZ.  But, he ended up in philidelphia.  Yay, not too far away.

Just sitting here kinda wanting to be up at the Ranch.  Oh how I miss the kids running around me.  I was wondering what summer school was missing.  I can't believe I have up River Valley Ranch for British Literature and Voice Lessons.  I guess it was the wiser choice, but in the long run, which one matters more, graduating with the rest of my class or impacting kids and teenagers lives.  You always remember times at camp.

Anyway, schools not that half bad.  I'm cleaning two houses and taking classes and working at computer services.  Don't know why they hired me.  I know nothing technological, but I guess it's more of a desk job.

Looking back at the last year I realize how far I've come, what I've learned, how differently I see the future.

My Bible studying is amazing.  I wish I was articulate enough to tell everything I'm learning and how i'm applying it and write it out, but I'm not very good at that, just take my word for it.

Over the next month I will:   1. be finishing summer school   2. go home for Dave's graduation this weekend.  3.  Go be the maid of honor and sing in Bethany's wedding the following weekend.  4.  Go find a horse to ride.

Today is the one-year anniversary of my grandpa's death.  Three of my grandparents have died as a result of car wrecks.  Also, today Dr. Falwell died.  Bethany and her Grandma were at his office when it happened.  She said it was scary and very sad. It's the end of a legacy.  He was such a visionary, he will be sorely missed.

I'm at summer school.  Hopefully will be working for computer services and cleaning a house.  I miss the masses of people that are usually here, but I am learning a lot just being in my quiet room alone.  Unlike anything i've ever done before, I really like it and wish I had time for reading and praying like this in a normal school year.  I'll have to make time.

I think Lee is stopping by tomorrow.  I'm very excited. None of my older brothers have ever been here, I can't wait to show him around.  Dave graduates from high school in 2 weeks.  Wow, we grow up really fast.  And Bethany is getting married the following weekend.  It's wierd having married friends and ones that have kids already.  But I'm glad they are going through it first, that way i'll have lots of free advice.

Going home July 1.  Then going to camp to visit, then Japanese Homestay in Lynchburg.  Busy summer.  I wish I had space around my dorm, i'd plant a garden.  MMmmmm.  with tomatoes in it.

School endeth.  This is not a suggestion, but a demand.  We have one week till exams.  will we make it?  I was a little annoyed today during my voice lesson. Nothing sounded the way I wanted it to, my teacher was chosing 20th century music for me that i refused to sing,  it sounds like someone put a basket-full of notes into a food processor and turned it on.  She was telling me all of the requirements for my recital, and the repertoire I need to sing now so that I can use it for auditions later.  NEWSFLASH:  anna will not be auditioning for any opera, ever.  I'll never be good enough, why does she even try to talk me into it.  All I love to do is sing Musical theater and stuff I can sing in church.  I can use the technical aspect of singing to help me with those, but after next year i won't be focused on it anymore.  I don't want an opera career.  I like to sing, the music department threatens to squelch my love for singing with their ridiculous demands.  As you can tell, just a slight bit annoyed.  And to think I will be spending a whole summer here just for singing.  AHHH.

On a brighter note:  I love singing.  I love tomatoes, and I love that my sister in law is gonna have another baby next week,  i think?  Too bad they are too far away to go see, but maybe i'll make an exception.

In the future:  the future is so far away.  I like taking days as they come, and although I am very much a planner and like to have an agenda, I learning right now that my agenda is very one-sided.  I am now taking my agenda and throwing it out of the window. . . to be trodden under the foot of man.  My new agenda is not my will, but Thine.

As you can tell from my new picture, i have been to see my brother lee.  I can't even express my feelings about the amazing week I had.  Not only did I get to show my brother how much I wanted to visit him and be with him, but I learned so much.  It was the best vacation I've ever had, but not just vacation, it was a week of amazing spiritual growth. . . exactly what I wanted, but wasn't expecting.  The people I got to witness to, especially at the airport was so refreshing.  Sometimes you pray for things not expecting them, which is a sin, but yet the Lord provides anyway.  This past week felt like a pat on the back from the Lord telling me to keep going, maybe assurance, or affirmation, whatever it was, i won't get over it.
